What be exploitation?
An exploitation film, or book or whatever, is a work that hinges on utilizing a salacious element for it's success. Some are terrible movies somewhat redeemed by having some sort of taboo element of note, others are just good, extreme films that don't exactly have a large budget. You should probably be able to spot one easily.
What is the first rule of exploitation?
The trailer always makes the movie seem way better than it actually is, even if the movie itself is good to begin with. The hallmark of exploitation trailers is making rather innocuous films seem like the dirtiest thing ever. Often utilizes the phrase "banned in its home country" for foreign films.
